The 7.5X53.5 ammo(not 7.5X55 or GP-11, actually GP-11 is 7.5X55.5)that was designed for use in the 1889 model S-R has an operating pressure range in the 38-40K CUP area, which is right where the 30/30 works at. Excellent condition antique Swiss Model 1889 Schmidt Rubin rifle in 7.5 x 53.5mm caliber that is serial number 2xxx, which dates it to manufacture in 1891, the first year of manufacture. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Metal finish is excellent original blue. Bore is bright and excellent with strong rifling.

The Swiss M1889 is a superbly designed piece of engineering typical of the Swiss. It was capable of an accurate range of double its predecessor the Vetterli.
